As an Insurer the biggest challenge we see is that many Australian businesses today are unaware of the potential risks relating pollution incidents – both from an implication and relevance standpoint.

Without proper market education, companies run the risks of facing potentially large, crippling lawsuit and indemnity costs, as well as 3rd party claims and remedial enforcement actions brought by environmental agencies.

Over recent years, I have worked with dozens of businesses relating to their environmental impairment liability insurance needs. In every case, I have helped them gain technical expertise on the various products built to meet their needs and understand the limitations of their more traditional insurance coverages.

Alan's insurance career began in 2004 in his hometown of Wellington, New Zealand. After graduating from university Alan moved to Australia, starting with Liberty in 2006 in Casualty before moving into the Environmental Impairment Liability division in 2013. During this time, he has worked across Liberty's Brisbane, Sydney and Toronto offices.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts Degree and Post Graduate Certificate in Business.
